Esther's short stories have appeared in Art of Horror, Miscellaneous
Ramblings, Flashshots, Femme Erotique, and Nevermore Magazine. She won a British
publisher's short story contest with "Sea Haven," a tale of love and tragedy set
on the Oregon Coast. Her stories can be found in many anthologies, including
Hell Hath No Fury, Flashshot: Year One and
Year Two, Small Bites, Embark to Madness,
Halloween: 3.0, Twisted Cat Tales, and Strange Stories of Sand and Sea. Cyber-Pulp Press published Murder Most Foul, a collection of her previously unpublished short stories.
While on a business and pleasure trip to Maui, Esther and Jack explored
several ideas for a novel based in that tropical setting. The result was
Desperate Straits: A Ginger Akana Adventure, a murder mystery set on Maui
and featuring a half-Hawaiian heroine who operates an insura
J. J. Sargent at Fine Tooth Press purchased the rights to publish the novel, and commissioned Jack Schrader to design the cover. Fine Tooth Press is currently working on the second Ginger Akana Adventure, Moloka'i Ashes, which is set on Maui and Moloka'i and deals with arson, murder, and many plot twists.
Fine Tooth Press also produced Esther's next novel, The Shadow People, which placed second in the Anubis Prize for Horror contest held by Broken Umbrella Press. Again, Jack created the cover design.
